STRIKE NOTIFICATION - Friday July 7th, 2023
Please be advised that the IBEW member employees (in Red) below, unless indicated as exceptions, shall be on strike as indicated (This notification supersedes previous strike notices):
All Areas and Business Units:
Will immediately implement the following:

Staff Living and working in the Isolated Communities (see Corporation definition as Isolated), may work unscheduled OT (beyond current Guaranteed OT arrangements in LOU’s or LOC’s) to a maximum of 6 hrs. on a normal workday or non-workday. The corporation can only notify the staff in these areas 2 hrs. after the original call.
Definition: Isolated [ J2.1.2]: •Northern location not connected to the southern system by an all-weather road or highway (Oxford House Area, Gods Lake Area, Island Lake Area,
Churchill).

Staff working (north of the 53rd) under LOC #16-06 Banked time for Engineering survey services, Transmission Line & Civil Construction Department and Electrical Construction Department (including Project Department Contract Administrators) may work 2 hrs. OT on normal workday and up to 6hrs OT on non-workday (who require OT to fill replenishable bank to maintain regular pay when away from site).

Members currently in a classroom or at the training Centre. Ex: pre-placement staff taking upgrading or classes, staff in schools at the training center or currently attending Red River College/University College of the North. New summer student hires taking training and orientation.
Strike Parameters: (Normal start/end times including guaranteed OT for those shifts shall apply.)

This withdrawal of services will be in place unless notified otherwise by IBEW 2034.
NOTE: Should management transfer non-striking members into “strike zones”, those transferred employees are immediately on strike.
