Dear Member;
Yesterday in Carberry, the province of Manitoba experienced a horrific mass casualty having an effect on so many. It is difficult to comprehend the devastation for the families as well as the shock and grief that has been wrought suddenly upon so many people. I join every one of you in extending our deepest sympathies to the victims and their loved ones.
The tragic event also represents significant trauma for those unfortunate to witness as well as the courageous first responders on the scene. I am grateful for the actions of any staff that may have been involved in any way to help on the scene. Our membership is amongst the most involved in our communities across the province, as First Responders, Volunteer Firefighters, Emergency Response Crews, and Emergency Spill Response to name a few. I want to take the time to acknowledge all our members for their dedication and sacrifice as they provide these vital services across the province.
I am also reminded of why it is so important to appreciate our families, friends, as well as the many things that bring us joy. I feel such gratitude to everyone I work with, as well as the entire membership we serve.
