Dear Member;

I hope everyone has a great Canada Day and that you’re able to safely enjoy some of the enhanced freedoms that the loosening of pandemic restrictions has provided.  Having said that, please stay safe and follow all suggested health guidelines.
 
We have been hard at work at the Union office as usual.  We’re currently busy preparing for the upcoming Labour Board hearings which will ultimately determine the terms of our Collective Agreement.  All our efforts have been focused on providing the Board with the most compelling arguments we can.
 
We exchanged briefs with Manitoba Hydro on June 15^th and are at the point now where we are putting together our written response to Hydro’s position. Presentations of our differing positions before the Labour Board will take place on the 7^th and 8^th of July. We expect the arbitration panel will consist of Colin Robinson as Chair, along with an employers’ representative as well as an employees’ representative.  The employees’ representative has not yet been named.
 
We anticipate that the Labour Board will issue its ruling by the 11^th of August 2021.
 
We are nearing the finish line and, once again, the credit for what we have accomplished so far lies largely with you.  You are to be commended for your solidarity.  Enjoy your holiday and stay safe.  We will apprise you of any further developments as they occur.
