Bargaining Progress Since Serving Notice to Manitoba Hydro - March 8th

Dear Member;
Serving Manitoba Hydro with a strike notice has resulted in dialogue between Manitoba Hydro and the provincial government. As a result, Hydro has reached out to IBEW through the mediator and asked that we return to the table tomorrow at noon.
IBEW indicated that it would return to bargaining only if Hydro was prepared to improve its offer from the last round of negotiations. Dennis Harrison, the mediator, has confirmed that Hydro is prepared to return with an improved offer for our review. It is further understood that IBEW will not give up its right to seek improvements to any offer made by Hydro if that offer is deemed to be insufficient.
Your Bargaining Committee will be meeting again with Hydro at 12:00 tomorrow the 9th of March. We will keep you informed of any developments.
