Please read before filling in the 2022 Negotiation Survey
Dear Valued Member,
Our present Labor Board imposed contract with Manitoba Hydro will expire on February 4, 2022. The feedback we receive from a survey of the membership is vital to achieve an honest and accurate reflection of each member’s priorities and expectations for our next round of negotiations. As you are well aware, achieving positive results at negotiations is a function of preparing well supported proposals and arguments. These results are also very dependent on an active and involved membership entrenched in solidarity.
We know it is likely that Manitoba Hydro will be subject to a wage mandate from the Province of Manitoba and that mandate may change over the course of 2022-2023 with an expected 2023 Fall provincial election.
During our last round of negotiations, our membership collectively made a decision to take strike action. Under certain circumstances, strike action is absolutely necessary to achieve a fair collective agreement. We also fully realize labour action has significant impacts on our members and is never taken lightly. Rest assured, we will make certain our membership has an abundance of pertinent information and facts to make an informed and calculated decision.
Please fill out the negotiations survey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/S8CWVNR . Feel free to submit any ideas or concepts you consider relevant to the negotiation process. Also indicate what issues are of priority and importance including what you consider worth fighting for.
Please be sure to return this survey by December 1st, 2021.
Thank you for your support and valuable contribution.
In solidarity,
