Day of Mourning (April 28)

April 28, 2020
Dear Sisters and Brothers;
As in previous years, today (April 28th) marks our National Day of Mourning. As you probably know, this day was chosen to remember and honour all persons who were killed or injured in the workplace. In short, today serves as a reminder of everyone's right to a safe and healthy workplace.
Now is the time for us to renew our commitment to improving health and safety at work. In these trying days, this includes adhering to "social distancing" guidelines, and all other COVID-19 protocols.
Let today's Day of Mourning not only help us remember and honour those who have become ill, been hurt, or been killed at work. Let it also remind us of our obligation to further the wellbeing and protection of everyone in the workplace, and in so doing, avoid needless illness and loss of life.
In solidarity,
