RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT:

In 2007 the IBEW filed two grievances dealing with residency requirements in a stand by and non stand by situations. We were challenging the Corporation’s requirements for employees to maintain their principal residences within specified distances from their work location, depending on the job. We were successful through working with the Corporation to change their long standing policy, the reference to “principal residence” no longer exists and policy G555, referencing the residency for non stand by will no longer exist.
